I updated to the latest release of Excel yesterday, 12.1.5. Today I tried to open an Excel file .xlm or .xlsx and I got an error message saying Excel had to close and did I want to send an error message. Now I can't launch Excel at all.

If it matters I have the error message data. Is there a safe or recovery mode. All other office products work fine.

Try holding down the Shift key while launching Excel. Does that allow Excel
to launch? I suspect that Excel is crashing for some reason when opening the
file, and now when you restart Excel, it's trying to open the file via
autorecover. Holding down the Shift key on launch will turn off AutoRecover.

Thanks,

Pat
