Excel 97 and XP

P

Peter

Having upgraded to XP and reloaded my old Office 97, I
have lost, in Excel, the 'Tools, Options ..... ' function.

Other than upgrading to Excel 2000 or 2002, anyone have
any ideas, please?

Hi Peter!

Sounds like your Excel has become corrupted. With Excel 97, you should
insert the set up CD ROM and re-run the Set-up.

Close all running programs.
Shut down
Start up
Insert the CD ROM

If it fails to auto start use:

Start > Run
browse to the CD ROM
select Setup.exe
Open
OK

You'll get taken to options that allow re-installation.

But, trust me (I'm an Australian!), you can run Excel 97 on Windows
XP. I had no problems on a recent upgrade to XP even though I had
multiple versions of Office installed and even though I decided to see
what happens if you disregard the normal and accepted advice to do a
completely clean boot for a new operating system.
