Hi Peter!
Sounds like your Excel has become corrupted. With Excel 97, you should
insert the set up CD ROM and re-run the Set-up.
Close all running programs.
Shut down
Start up
Insert the CD ROM
If it fails to auto start use:
Start > Run
browse to the CD ROM
select Setup.exe
Open
OK
You'll get taken to options that allow re-installation.
But, trust me (I'm an Australian!), you can run Excel 97 on Windows
XP. I had no problems on a recent upgrade to XP even though I had
multiple versions of Office installed and even though I decided to see
what happens if you disregard the normal and accepted advice to do a
completely clean boot for a new operating system.
