Excel 97 in Wins XP

Hello,

I'm trying to open an excel file in Excel 97 version
running under Wins XP but I could not open it. it
says "permission to object is denied". I can open this
file in a excel XP and excel 97 which runs in Wins 98.

Does Wins XP supports office 97 application? Is there a
way to solve this problem?

Did this just start happening? If yes, were you hit by the MSBlast worm?

One poster (Lutz Meyer) guessed that this was the cause of his problems. I
haven't seen any confirmation/denial, but you may want to read his post:
