Excel 97 Invalid Page Fault Typing in Cell

Hello,

I am having a problem with a worksheet generating an
Invalid Page Fault intermittantly but repeatedly when
typing text into a cell. This problem was reported back
in 2002 (http://groups.google.com/groups?
q=0177:300e2fa2&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-
8&selm=16f3101c22d03%24aa35ce80%2437ef2ecf%
40TKMSFTNGXA13&rnum=1), but I could not find an answer to
that post.

The error message on Win98 SE from Excel97 SR-2 is:
Excel caused an invalid page fault in module EXCEL.EXE at
0177:300e2fa2.

The error message on Win2K from Excel 97 SR-2 is:
The instruction at "0x300e2fa2" referenced memory
at "0x01c7f168". The memory could not be "read".

The Win98 is /always/ the same reference. As stated, I am
running the latest SR-2 for Excel97. I have tried
disabling/unloading Norton with no effect. I get the same
error starting Excel with /safe, /regserver,
and /automation. The error occurs on multiple
workstations. The error occurs with Office2K.

There's no complicated VB or anything with this file (no
VB at all). It's just formatted text typed into the
worksheet. Any given cell does /not/ exceed Excel's per
cell character limit. My default file location is /not/
greater than the character limit for that option.

Thanks in advance for any advice. BCNU//jle
