Excel 97 to 2000

I'm running Office 97 Professional and I'd like to just upgrade only my
Excel program to 2000...
....is that possible...no problems?
Thanks for an assistance.

Both Office 97 and Office 2000 are out of mainstream and extended support (Office 97) - why, if you don't mind me asking, is this a preferred upgrade option? (BTW - Office XP is not far behind the loss of mainstream support)

My 97 Excel isn't performing the way it should...the Save to HTML function
is not saving spreadsheets even close to what they look like and I can't
publish them to a web site I'm just learning to build that way.
I have access to 2000 and would just like to try putting it in to clear up
this problem.
