Excel 97

Recently I installed OS win 2000Pro with excel 97. After
installation, i could not control the mouse whenever Excel
is used.

When I point the mouse to a cell, the mouse will hang and
the only way out is to used the task manager to log off.

Anyone encounter this problem before and has any solution?
