How do I get the ADD-Ins for excel for doing analysis such as regression?

Currently, they are unavailable as most add-ins were developed using VBA
which is unsupported in Excel 2008. However, all the functions in the
Analysis tool Pack for Excel 2004 re present as native functions in 2008.

We are just users like you. I have no idea when (or even if) you can expect
a solution. Try googling oatbran to see if any of their solutions will work.

It *IS* correct. The regression tool is NOT a function.

The tool is a wizard that of course doesn't work now since VBA was
removed. But the wizard is only a shortcut for using LINEST(), which
handles multiple regression with up to 16 variables.

LINEST() still works fine in XL08. So no macro is strictly necessary -
though it's obviously less convenient.

How do I get the ADD-Ins for 2008 excel for doing analysis such as regression with Hypothesis Tests, as t, F, available for 2004 Excel?

The short answer is you can't. Excel 2008 does not support VBA, so the
Analysis tool Pack used with Excel 2004 will not work. However, all the
functions available in the 2004 ATP are now built in functions in Excel
2008. However, the analysis wizards are not available, but you can
accomplish the same thing with several steps. Not as convenient, but it
works.

Histograms are also apparently gone, which I use quite regularly. Is there a simple way to do them in Excel 2008? If not, I have to go back to Excel 2004. :frown:

I supossed when you make a new Office, It must be simplier than de preview one. The use of regression with the ADD-Ins in the analysis tool pack was easier with the Excel 2004. It can be possible than I can "acomplish the same thing with several steps. Not as convenient but It works" with Excel 2008, if only a week ago I could do It easier with Excel 2004. Do I really have to go back to Excel 2004?

Unfortunately, the Analysis Tool Pack was removed from Office 2008 because
it is based on VBA. As you noted, all the ATP functions have been
incorporated directly in Excel 2008, but the ATP wizards have not. You will
have to decide for yourself whether or not to continue with Excel 2008, or
return to Excel 2004. Realize, however, that both can be installed and used
at the same time with no problems.
