Excel Add ins

I am running MS Office 2003
Objective: to load an add-in .xla file
Procedure used: Select Tools==>Add-ins==>Browse==> select
the .xla file.
Problem: I get the square to the left of the name of the
file, but do not see the name....===>why

I think the right answer is that the add-in needs to have it's name
identified by making an entry in
the Comments field before the file is saved as an add-in. File | Properties
| Summary tab. In this
way, the description of the add-in appears in the Add-Ins dialog.
