Excel and keyboard problems

Hi, I have a very strange problem. Whenever I open a NEW file on Excel 2004
and use the keyboard, it crushes. This only happens on Excel. It doesn't
happen in an existing file, where I can use the keyboard perfectly well. Also,
this doesn't happen in a new file when I use the mouse for editing. The
problem is the combination of a NEW file and the use of the keyboard. And
only with Excel. I would be very grateful if someone can help. Thanks anyway.

Sounds like a rather unusual combination:) Just to be sure the playing
field is level, make sure that:

1- OS X is up-to-date,
2- Office is up-to-date,
3- Disk permissions have been repaired, and
4- Restart your Mac

If you still have problems post back with any additional detail you can
provide... add-ins or haxies, other software you've installed, any other
system changes? Include system & OS info.

Thanks for your answer. In order to your questions:
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. I have done it several times and it doesn't fix the problem

I haven't performed any changes in the OS. Something I forgot to tell is that
when I try to open "Keyboard and Mouse" (Teclado y Ratón, in Spanish) in the
System Preferences of the OS (by the way, OS 10.4.11), it doesn´t opens... it
stays loading but don't show anything else.
My Mac is an iBook 1.42 Ghz PowerPC G4 with 1 GB on RAM.

Thanks again for your help.
