Excel (and Office 2008) Unusable

Excel, Word, PowerPoint are unusable ever since the new update came
out. They each crash several times a day. Most times, it's the
spinning beach ball so I have to Force Quit the program.

Please tell me a fix is in the works!

Some more information..

Both MS Office 2008 and Office 2004 have become unusable.
Both are up-to-date.

I'm on a MacBookPro
