excel and powerpoint crashing when closing

Hi,

I hope someone here can help me. I've ran into the problem of both excel and
powerpoint crashing when I close the program. It says,

"Excel/PowerPoint has encountered a problem and needs to close."

I've done a search on here already and deleting .xlb files did not work for
me for excel and I'm not sure what to do for powerpoint.

It is now beginning to be an annoyance.

I found the solution was to do a profile dump... how do you do that?
