Excel attachments hangs for one minute when opened in Outlook. It happens
while Outlook is performing the send/receive function. If I open an
attachment at the same time it sends/receives, the send/receive function
hangs -AND- Excel takes over a minute to open up. This happens with Word
documents as well. It doesn't happen with .JPGs or text documents. Some
would say, "don't open an attachment while Outlook is sending/receiving." I
receive approximately 150 emails day (it's not because I'm popular), with
most having Excel attachments. It's more efficient to read my emails while
Outlook is performing it's normal function. I used to be able to do this
without any problems. This only just started a couple of months ago.
Another user on a non-related Microsoft thread is having the same issue. I
use Microsoft Office 2003. I have tried the following to no avail:
1. Started computer in Safe Mode with Networking
2. Started Outlook in Safe mode and disabled COM add-ins
3. Created a new Outlook profile with a new .PST
4. Disabled Norton Internet Security
5. Detected and repaired Office 2003
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
