Excel auto opens other files

When I run Excel, it says Half.doc invalid file format and
then proceeds to open an additional 40 files, most of
which are non-excel documents. Any idea how I can stop it
from opening these, just going to a black screen? If you

Look for a folder on your C Drive called XLSTART. It
might contain a script that MIGHT be a virus. Move what
ever is in the folder and try opening excel again.

I'm not certain, but it might be worth a try.
