excel automate links from vb

Hi
my excel worksheet has a number of refernces from using one of the
addins.

when i open the worksheet in vb i am not able to get the updated data
from the addin and i do not see the addin listed in the menubar though
it is checked in the addin list

when i print out the excel sheet is like ?Name #####

how can i automate this function from visual basic
