Excel binders

I've got a couple excel spreadsheets I'd like to link into
a binder for easy sharing (read only) with others. Is it
possible to password protect a binder, as it seems
password protection of the original, individual excel
files no longer applies once they're added to the binder?
Any thoughts appreciated.
