I have an excel file that with the copy/paste special/link features I managed
to insert a 3d scatter graph in excel using an external application called
DPlot. I also managed to interact with DPlot using macros, mainly to change
the contourview.
But now I have a problem. As soon as I close either of the programs, the
graph in excel stops updating. DPlot is ok, when I re-open and I change stuff
in excel it changes in dplot but the graph in excel doesn't.
What is happening is that on re-opening excel it detects links that need to
be updated. I choose update but it gives this error: -
Remote data not accessible.
To access this data Excel needs start another application. Some legitimate
applications on your computer could be used maliciously to spread viruses or
damage your computer.Only click Yes if you trust the source of this workbook
and you want to let the workbook start the application. Start application
'DPLOT.EXE'?
Yes No
Obviously since I built the application myself I trust it. However when I
press Yes it says: -
Cannot run 'DPLOT.EXE'. The program or one of its components is damaged or
missing.
Until now I have the evaluation version of DPlot. I had the IT guys purchase
the licence, and are due to install the full version. Has this got to do
anything with it or am I missing something?
Cheers
