Hello,
Have a strange problem with Excel 97 sr-2. User needs to
access a excel spreadsheet that is located on a share
directory.
When I attempt to create a shortcut to the file and then
try out the shortcut I get an error message....
"Cannot find file, filename.xls (or one of it's
components), make sure the path and filename are correct
and that all required libraries are available".
If I copy the actual file to the local PC I get the same
error message.
If I open Excel and use "file, open" and browse to the
file it works.
I tried the microsoft knowlegde base article #296055 which
explains how to re-register excel. This did not work.
If I log in as myself on the network and try to re-create
the shortcut it works properly.
IF I give the user the same rights as myself it still does
not function properly.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thank you.
