Excel: change Z-axis scale

I

Invisible

Hi folks.

Just a short one... does anyone know how to change the scale on the Z-axis
when doing a contour plot?

Also, if anyone can tell me how to change the formatting of the numbers on
the legend without having to change the formatting on the source worksheet,
I'd be greatful. You can do this for other graph types, but I can't figure
out how for a contour plot.

I'm sure this is really simple, but I can't figure it out, and it's annoying
me.

Thanks.

OK... apparently this isn't so simple after all... Come on folks, I only
want to increase the number of contour lines!

Thanks.

Hi, Invisible,

If you don't get a reply here, try posting to an Excel newsgroup, where
those gurus tend to hang out.

Thanks... I was puzzled when I couldn't find any Excel-specific NGs in the
first place... It seems they're listen seperately, not under "office" where
I'd expected them to be... Anyway, I'll go ask there.

Hello Invisible man

I have only just seen your posting, hence the delay.

You do this by selecting the z-axis, then right clicking. From the menu
select Format axis, and then in the Format axis panel select the Scale tab.
Then type in the value you want for the major unit.

(No doubt by now you will have found that!).

Regards

David
