Excel charts show wrong dates in Powerpoing

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I have found a weird behavior, when opening a PP document with some excel charts the x-axis shows dates as 2013. Once I either edit data in excel or simply format the axis (with no changes, just invoking hte actions) the axis shows proper (i.e., 2009) year.

Also, is this the right place to complain about the limitations of the applescript object model to manipulate charts in powerpoint?

BTW I tried to build an applescript to automatize these operations, it kind of works but is very unstable.
