Excel closes when trying to copy and paste in new email

When ever I try to copy from excel and paste the info to a new outook email
excel would close and nothing remains on the clipboard to paste. I would
then need to start excel again to copy and paste to the already opened email.
This only occures if the I start a new email after the copy command from
excel. If I start the email in outlook then copy from excel it's fine. This
is happening to any excel file and starting to occure to multiple systems
that did not have this issue before. Are there any quick fix besides
reinstalling Office?
