My columns have always been alphabetical on EXCEL...which made it very easy to write formulas. But now they are numeric and the formulas read like...=RC[-1]*RC[-5]....very hard to follow if formula is correct or not. I was use to seeing...=A1*B5......now I have all formulas listed as 'RC" and not parenthesis but brackets and negative numbers which I thing are the columns.....how do I change back the columns to be alphabetical?

Thank you!

Go in to Preference General > and turn off use R1C1 Style. This has been around for years and was an incentive for people that were using Lotus 123 which was the most popular spread sheet , database on the planet before Excel became popular. For old dinosaurs like me. It was a good way to set, to something we could understand. it stands for Row2, Column1 (R1C1).
