Excel Commnets in Cells

I have a copy of excel that camewith the computer when I purchased it. I
want to put comments in the cells. Unfortunlately this menu functions is
blanked out on this copy. Is there a solution or must I upgrade to another
version. Ta

Is your worksheet protected? If so, unprotecting it
(Tools/Protection/Unprotect sheet) should enable the Insert/Comment item.

If not, try choosing Tools/Customize/Customize Toolbars/Menus. Select
the Worksheet Menu Bar item (so that it's highlighted, not just the
checkbox checked). Then click Reset.

For future reference, it's often helpful to include which version of
MacXL you're using, as well as which version of MacOS.

There shouldn't be anything special other than making sure you have the cell
selected and aren't actively editing the cell content at the time. IOW, the
comments don't go *in* the cells, they kinda get "attached" to them. If that
still doesn't make the command active, take a look at Excel>Preferences>View
& make sure None isn't selected in the Comments section.

If you continue to have a problem, post back indicating the specific version
of Excel.
