excel component in FP 2002

I used Excel to make a component spreadsheet to hold some data (1100 records)
to just be displayed in a FP web page. Apparently this only works if you have
MS Office and/or Excel on your computerto view it. Otherwise a little square
box appears and nothing else. How do I program in an error message for those
that don't have Office on their computer so they will know this is the
situation?

Thanks

Ron

You have to add a text note to your page, near the link, that they must have Excel installed, etc.

Yes you need Excel or the Excel reader. Provide a link to the Excel reader,
ask the user to download it. (as you would if someone doesn't have the PDF
adobe reader - same idea).
