No. Not in Excel 2008, because you need VBA to retrieve the formats.
Instead of applying formats to the cells, create a new "Kind" column beside
them and enter a digit there to indicate which kind it is.
Then use Conditional Formatting to apply formats based on the value in the
new column.
You can then easily use COUNTIF to count the number of times a value appears
in the "Kind" column.
