Excel Crash during launch trying to recover files

Hi

Can someone help as I can't open excel 2004 anymore.

My system froze with excel and a load of other applications open. I had to
do a hard restart (power button) to get it going again.

I tried to open excel, and when it is opening and trying to recover
previously opened files it crashes.

Is there any way to get excel to ignore what was open when it crashed and
and just open with a blank sheet.

Hold the shift key down while XL starts.

I had to restart the mac to get it to work
