Excel crashes upon startup

I regularly use an Excel order form created by someone else on a PC
that contains a lot of macros. I recently upgraded from Office X to
Office 2004 and since then the xls will crash as soon as I enable
macros and open. If I throw out the excel prefs it opens fine. Any
ideas?
