Excel crashes when opening PC Excel file with macros

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC

Am receiving files with macros from PC client. Can open but cannot use as Excel crashes immediately upon clicking on any of the tabs, columns or rows. Have tried option of opening and removing macros as well as just opening and keeping macros. Have also tried saving as xlsx and re-saving as xls. Crash report is lengthy but this is the first part:

Yes. Can I just reply with attachment to the e-mail notification or how is the best way to send it? Sorry, but I am new to Mactopia.
