I have read here and have been advised by Microsoft that I cannot sort data that are in merged cells(even when I do not think that I have merged them, they seem to merge themselves). Maybe they merge because I am requesting data from previous cells. I am not sure. I am not happy about this, as I have been able to do this on my old PC.
My questions is how do I complete the following task without using merged cells. I am not proficient enough in excel to know an alternative method or formula.
ex-I am compiling a name from A1 with it's value calculated in BB1, into a list of 30 others and then I need to sort them descending. I was using the following formula =round(BB1,3)&" "&A1
for each item. When I hi-light the lines and push sort, excel quits unexpectedly.
If the cells are/do not merge, then the data does not fit and I get the "#". I need to see the result. I would appreciate some mac excel help.
