I am having problems with some spreadsheets that keep, periodically, crashing.
In short I have numerous spreadsheets that include a nested INDEX and
VLOOKUP functions to return information from other tabs in the same workbook
as well as data from another workbook. The workbook is a file that is 6.5mb
and the spreadsheets vary in file size (the size of the file that most
recently crashed is 250kb).
The issue that is causing the lack of understanding is that the spreadsheets
can all open and update without any issue - however on another occasion a
file can be opened and, whether updating the data or not, a crash occurs.
Once that spreadsheet has crashed I can't open it again without it crashing
(even after recovery and resaving) and I have to resort to rebuilding from
scratch.
I've sent the error report to Microsoft however I would be hoping to have a
solution in place to stop this happening.
I am running Excel 2003 and the files are resident on a server (though I
don't have information on this).
Thanks in anticpitation.
