Excel crashing

I installed excel 2008 yesterday and started with a very simple sheet I only filled in adresess. all of the sudden excel will not let me add more than a few words and then it crashes again. I opened a new file - same thing. Has anybody a good idea? Is it a registration problem - I did not register yet.

A lot of people seem to be having similar problems. I am not aware of a
common cause yet. However, the one thing I can assure you is that it is NOT
a registration problem. Macintosh office programs do not have to be
activated like windows programs.
