I was creating a large database in excel with over 2000 contacts with columns for name, company name, telephone number, address 1, address 2 etc and instead of saving as an xls file i saved as a csv by mistake meaning each line of the file looks like this and is in one column:

Gill,,[email protected],Hanson Textiles,,Unit 5,St Marys Road,Sydenham Industrial Estate,Leamington Spa,Warwickshire,,CV31 1DB

The commas are where I have left a column black.

How do I get the document back to each column being in a separate column rather than being bunched up into one?

Thanks
Katy

Just reopen the file and use Data, text to columns. Then delete any columns
not needed.
