excel cursor not displaying

I've created an excel workbook with activex controls
(textboxes, combo boxes, etc) and when I use the mouse and
click into one of the controls, the cursor does not
display until the second click. There is no set focus
code available to use to work around this.

This was working fine on my machine earlier (one click set
the cursor in the field correctly) but now it requires two
clicks. Is there an Excel option that needs to be set to
correct this?
