Excel Cut and Copy command

I have Excel 98 and lately whenever I cut or copy a cell I
cannot get it to paste anywhere in that spreadsheet. The
dashes turn off after I select the copy or paste command.

I install another copy of Excel 98 and it still is losing
the dashes whenever I cut or copy a command. Please help!!!!!

Do you have any event macros running?

What OS are you running? Have you updated to the latest version:

And what did you change with XL or your System "lately"?
