Excel delay before launching

Running Win98, Excel 2000, there is a delay in Excel
opening.

Nothing seems to be running while opening (looked at
processes/tasks); no add-ins loaded; only other non-
microsoft software is Adobe writer installed. Nothing
seems to show up in xlstart directory

Try cleaning out you Windows/Temp directory.
