Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) I have a document that was originally created in Excel 2007 on windows. On Mac now with Excel 2008. It is password protected. When I open it now the following happens I get a message that says (filename) is being modified by (blank) Open as read only or choose notify. I select Notify. File Reservation (filename) is now available for editing Choose Read-write to open it for editing I select Read-write You have made changes to (filename) - I DID NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES Another user has also made changes - THERE ARE NO OTHER USERS What would you like to do. - Discard your changes and edit the latest version - I SELECT THIS OPTION File Reservation (filename) being modified by Open as read only or choose notify. I cannot get out of this loop. There is no one else using this file. I have not been able to make any changes to it. Not sure if it is a 2008 glitch or an issue with it being brought over from windows.
