I have an excel document that has parts of it as a read only file and
it has a password on it but it has been forgotten with staff changes
in our office. Is there anyway we can change it from a read only file
sothe people we send it to can actually use it

Use File/SaveAs to save it with another name. In the Save dialog, click
Options and uncheck the Read-only recommended checkbox.

Hi Emma,

There are ways to retrieve a lost or forgotten password:

Please do not open anybody else's files unless you are authorised to do so.
