Go to the directory where both files are stored.

Highlight the one that you don't want and hit the DEL key.

Please hit Yes if my comments have helped.

Thanks.

In the subject line you said "duplicated a sheet"; in the body of the
message you said that it duplicated "a workbook". Are you sure that it's
two workbooks or two worksheets? Or are you talking about 2 windows on the
same workbook? In that case they'll be labelled as Book1:1 and Book1:2. If
so, close one window by clicking the blue X at the top right, below the red
X. Then save the workbook and re-open, & it'll show only the one window.

Do you see something like: Book1.xls:1 and Book1.xls:2 in the title bars?

If yes, then you haven't duplicated any worksheets. But you have opened a
second window into that same workbook.

If you want to close one, just click on it and hit ctrl-w

Remember to save the workbook before you close--else you'll be doing it again.

Debra Dalgleish has some instructions with pictures:

This can be caused by using:
Window|New window
(maybe followed by window|arrange)

It can be quite useful to see different ares of the same workbook (even same
worksheet) at the same time.
