EXCEL embedded object in word distorted

I have an embedded Excel worksheet in my word file.
Every time I edit cells in the worksheet, then go back to the word document,
the Excel sheet looks distorted. While editing in Excel, all looks perfect.
I am using Word and Excel 2003 and Arial 12 as font.
