excel.exe crashes on load with Autosave Add-in

Excel 2k on Windows 2ksp4 Excel throws Excel.exe has
generated errors ... message for the first several times
of trying to launch excel after a reboot when
the 'Autosave add-in" is enabled. After Excel loads
properly you can open and close as desired with no errors
until the next reboot. Attempting a repair does not
solve, complete remove / reinstall of office does not
solve the issue either.

Any help would be great.
Thank you.

I believe there is an upgrade to this add-in, not specifically for your
problem, but one of persistence when the 'always load' checkbox is checked.
It may help though. This was added in SR1 and SR1a, so make sure you have
this loaded at least.

When unloading and loading XL some add-ins, templates, etc are not deleted.
If the above does not work, you should search for autosave.xla and either
obtain another copy off another machine and delete it or re-install after
searching for it and deleting it as I suspect it could be corrupted.

For what it's worth, I never successfully implimented that feature as it
conflicted with just about anything being done in the workbook at that time!
XP and later 'built-in' autosave is great however
