Excel.Exe Has Generated Errors and Will Shut Down

All,

Receiving the following message when trying to
perform any action in MicroSoft Excel 2000.

Excel.Exe Has Generated Errors and Will Shut Down;
generating error log.

Running Windows 2000 and cannot locate error log;
when I try to repair, receiving message about
reinstalling operating system.
