Excel failed to copy properly HTML Table had to copy 1st to word T

Tried to copy 7x90 HTML table from the Web to Excel 2007. Excel copied it as
a single column even when I pre selected 7x90 cells.
Had to copy to a Word 7x90 table 1st and then copy the word table to excel

Is the Text to columns facility any help?

In the ribbon select DATA then in the DATA TOOLS area select TEXT TO COLUMNS.

When you paste your data into the s/s do so at a1 and do nothing else within
the s/s.

Depending upon what separates the data you can then follow the procedure to
separate and then format each column.
