excel failure

while installing the office SP3 updates, I cancelled the process somewhere in
the midway since I do not have the original CD around. And now whenever I
open excel files the Windows Installer screen pop up automatically and try to
continue install the update itself - and there is no way I could open those
excel files. words and access files works fine though. Could someone please
suggest any help? thanks.

Generally, the MS Installer is going to need/look for
the original installation source to complete a repair
or restoration action of MS Office when it detects
a problem.

Office XP replacement CDs are still available from Microsoft,
older (800) 360-7561 in the U.S. (Office 97 or 2000) are no longer offered.
