Excel file crashes in a windows box

I have Microsoft Excel for MacX.
I use it frequently and send files as e-mail attachments to multiple
colleagues.
I have accounting templates which I need to fill in and send but the
file when sent apparently opens on the recipients windows box, then
immediately crashes with the following message appearing:
"EXCEL.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You
will need to restart the program."
The spreadsheet has macros but I have used similar templates before
without problem. The only change from successful attempts before is
that I now run Mac OSX 10.3.5 whereas previously I was using OSx
10.2.8.
Can anyone shed any light on what is happening here?
Thanks

Changing OS's has nothing to do with the problem.

The most likely explanation is that your template got corrupted. Try
using a backup copy (you did keep a backup copy, right?). Alternatively,
if your recipients are not using XL02/03, those versions are much more
tolerant of file corruption.

If no backup is available, create a new blank workbook. Use Select
All/Copy/<select new workbook and sheet>/Paste to copy the sheet
contents to the new workbook. Copy the macros manually.
