Excel file expands ands locks Excel

Hi!

I'm working with files that are run on different PCs,
Excel 2000, English or Swedish versions. No Macros.

For some files, it goes wrong. The file size increases
after each saving and eventually cannot be opened. Excel
tries to open but hangs half way.

I have no clue why this hapens, anyone?
