I am trying to create a search engine to search a excel file. I created the
excel file as a mhtl extention. How do I point the SE to search the excel web
page? These htm files will not be used over the internet. I have seen ways to
search other web pages and the setup process. but not a specific file

The standard FP search engine won't do this. However, when Indexing Services
is present on a Windows server, FP will often rely on that as the source.
It's been a long time since I've done this procedure, but your host will
need to create a catalog in indexing services that points to the particular
web. As for what additional document types Indexing Services can search,
that's another matter. It can search through a lot depending upon what
filters are available. I double it can search through an mhtl file as that's
a compiled html document and not the same thing as a plain html file.
Indexing Services may be able to search the excel spreadsheet itself though
as I know it can search word documents.
