I have often noticed when working with excel files
(Pivots, xtra formatting etc) that the final file size can
be huge - and definitely doesn't appear to be an accurate
reflection of true file size. If, in those instances, I
open a new excel template and essentially 'copy in' the
data from each worksheet of the original file - the file
size drops dramatically (orders of magnitude) without
compromising the file's value/utility etc ....
Does anyone know what causes this, and how to avoid it? Is
it being caused by some bad user habits : (( ...
Would appreciate any insights/comments,
