Excel file type as Data source for 2007 Org Chart

I am trying to create an org chart in visio 2007 from an excel 2007 file but
it keeps crashing. when i use an excel 2003 file type it seems to work. Is
this a limiation of Visio? I can't find anything in the Help file that
identifies what type of excel file is allowable.

Off the top of my head I can only think of two alternatives, a.) column
definitions are incorrect in the e2007 excel file, b.) it is attempting to
use an e2003 connect stream to open the e2007 file. The first can be tested
by opening the e2003 file in excel2007 and save as an e2007 format file and
then attempting to create the orgchart. The second can be tested by create a
new dataconnect sequence to the e2007 excel created in our first test to see
if it can open a properly formatted e2007 worksheet.
