Who may support me?
I use excel 2004 and suddenly (I guess after update) I can not open some
excel files.
If I transfer the files to a PC it will open with no problem.
I do not get any failure message. If I klick to the file. Excel starts but
do not open the file.

What happens if you open Excel, and then try to open the file from the file
menu? Are you sure the file is not open? What is in the window menu? Is
unhide dimmed? If the file shows in the window menu, select it and click
arrange.

Hello,
No this is not the problem. The filename even do not appear in the file
menue of the last opend files.
I may remember that such problem was discussen in the past caused by an
update. But I do not now anymore what to do.

Hello -

I believe what Bob G. was suggesting is to use the File>Open command to try
to get the files open. The filename will not appear in the Most Recently
Used list at the bottom of the File menu if Excel has not been able to open
the file.

Did you run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions after the update?

Are these files you *could* open on the Mac previously?

Were the files created on a PC? If so they may contain VBA that is
preventing Mac XL form being able to open them. Try holding the Shift key
while opening to see if that will work - the file won't be _usable_ because
the shift key bypasses the code, but it may shed some light on the problem.
