excel file will not open

Someone gave my a floppy disk with an excel file on it and it will not
open.
He told me that the computer that he was working on it froze-up and he
rebooted the pc and known it won't open. Try repaired it through excel
but had known success with it.

Does anyone known of any repair program that will fix it

Can you see there is a file on the floppy?

Have you tried to copy the file to hard drive then open it?

Yes I see the file on the floppy.

No I can not copy the file to the desktop I am getting this error
(ERROR PREFORMING INPAGE OPERATION)
