Excel File won't open on my pc but will on other pcs

I have been working on a macro enabled excel 2000 app.
Recently it crashed when running some of the macros in it.
I now can't open the file on my PC (hangs and does not
respond when opened), but it seems to work fine on other
PCs.

Does anyone know how I can solve this problem with my PC
or what may have happened?

after spending days trying to find a solution to this
problem I eventually found that by clearing out the TEMP
folder on my machine I could open the spreadsheet again
